Apologies if this is a bit too obvious / self-evident. . .

If you have problems running a Boxed Wine app (with below error msgs), try closing other running applications, such as Chrome etc. first.

It seems that you can then run the other application without problems after the Boxed Win app has started up successfully.

Hope this is of some help

I fixed a bug in svn 735 (after 18R1) that caused the random number generator to return the same number if called more than once per second.  This resulted in some weird behavior that could change depending on the speed of the computer.   I wonder if exiting Chrome increased the speed given to Boxedwine?

I haven't seen "The explorer process failed to start." in a long time so perhaps it is now fixed.  Have you tried the new beta?

I just tried the new beta, and it starts up without any problems.

Couple of glitches though: the clipboard is no longer working for me on the beta (it was fine on release 1); and control keys still don't seem to work.

(You're doing a great job on this!)

I think I was able to fix the ctrl key, at least for Abiword, it already worked for Notepad.  But I noticed that clipboard handling changed a lot since Wine 1.6 when it last worked for Boxedwine.
